ENFIELD 2nd INNOVATION SCHEME OPEN CALL – 1.1M€

The Enfield 2nd Innovation scheme is now open for applications, targeting research and industry players eager to tackle real-world scientific and technological challenges in the key industrial domains of Healthcare, Energy, Manufacturing, and Space. This call is part of ENFIELD’s mission to strengthen its network and accelerate the adoption of AI technologies to boost Europe’s industrial competitiveness.

What They’re Looking For

Enfield are funding innovative applied research and technology-driven projects that directly address the challenges outlined in our Catalogue of Challenges. Proposals should offer new solutions or applications that advance the state of the art in one or more of the targeted sectors.

Project Scope

  • Sectors: Healthcare, Energy, Manufacturing, Space

  • Type of work: Applied research and/or innovative applications aligned with ENFIELD’s thematic priorities

  • Duration: Up to 6 months

Who Can Apply

  • Applicants:

    • Private for-profit entities (startups, SMEs, midcaps, large companies)

    • Research centres and institutes

  • Geographic eligibility: Must be legally established in an EU Member State or a Horizon Europe Associated Country

  • Eligible configurations:

    • Individual applicants (single legal entity)

    • Consortiums (minimum of two legal entities)

  • Conflict of interest: Applicants must have no conflicts with ENFIELD partners

Challenge Areas

Projects must respond to one of the defined challenges below:

Healthcare

  • IDH.1 – Enhanced AI-powered remote patient monitoring

Energy

  • IDE.1 – Detecting early signs of energy poverty

  • IDE.2 – Developing a city sustainability index

Manufacturing

  • IDM.1 – Adaptive AI for robotic disassembly of electronics and appliances

  • IDM.2 – Dataset reliability metrics for Smart Manufacturing

  • IDM.3 – Computer vision for foot recognition

  • IDM.4 – Industry 5.0: AI for worker safety and well-being

Space

  • IDS.1 – Space-based maritime surveillance

  • IDS.2 – Autonomous navigation for low SWaP UAVs using robust vision systems

Funding & Budget Details

  • Funding rate: Up to 70% of eligible costs for private-for-profit organisations

  • Maximum grant per project: €60,000

  • Payment structure:

    • 50% at project start

    • 50% upon milestone completion
