Paul Witcombe is an experienced economic development and innovation leader with over 35 years’ experience working at the interface between industry and government. Throughout his career, he has focused on supporting business growth, innovation, and sector development, particularly in advanced manufacturing and life sciences, across regional and national ecosystems. Beginning his career in the Department of Trade and Industry, Paul developed a strong foundation in financial management, programme delivery, and business support skills he has carried through into senior leadership roles focused on enabling industry success.
Currently serving as Sector Lead for Advanced Manufacturing and Life Sciences at Hertfordshire Futures, Paul leads strategic engagement with industry, helping to shape sector growth, strengthen supply chains, and drive collaboration between businesses, research institutions, and public sector partners.
