Speakers for Schools are coordinating a three-day virtual work experience programme designed to introduce young people to the exciting opportunities within the UK space industry. As a valued organisation within the Space East cluster, your involvement—whether through a guest talk or a project challenge —will help students gain real insight into the sector while showcasing your work to future talent.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support skills development and raise awareness of the dynamic careers available in space. Get involved and help us launch the next generation of innovators!
Dates: The exact dates will be determined by industry volunteer availability; however the placement will occur within the window of late June – early July.
Time commitment: Across the 3 days we would like at least one industry volunteer to join us, for an hour (or more!) to speak about their career, current job role, provide some pointers on entering the sector, and give some general input on the project work the students will be completing. This is all hosted virtually through Google Classroom, and we provide full training and support; as well as template slide-decks to use if you do not have your own resources.
On the final day, students will be presenting their projects back to the group for feedback, of course it would be great to have someone from industry on the call to provide their feedback too, this usually would take around an hour.
